MECHANICAL RETRACTOR
Mechanical brain retractors are widely used biomedical devices in brain surgery. They are commonly used to retract the brain lobes to make the operations easier. The most popular and widely used stainless steel retractor is the one developped bu Gazi Yaşargil. This retractor is relatively expensive and bears several application deficiencies. The retractor we have developped in Innoway R&D is very simple low cost, disposable, easily sterilized, pneumatically actuated pair of tongs. The bellow is actuated via a hose connected to a simple rubber bulb pump, equipped with a checkvalve/return valve. As the connection hose is flexible no force or action is transferred to the operation zone.
