ABAKUS
Abakus is a medical application based on a mobile phone or tablet and calculate drug dosages, pediatric growth charts, cardiopulmonary and emergency interventions based on single picture of the patient.
Abakus application will be used mainly in pediatric and adult CPR, intensive care units, ambulances, anesthesiology departments, forensic applications and emergency services. Some of the calculations performed by Abakus are all formulary drug dosages, pediatric emergency catheter sizes, defibrillation dosages, head circumference, pediatric groth charts, obesity index and some other indices based on single Picture of patient. The application will be prepared to work offline. The application will use classification, segmentation and pattern recognition artificial intelligence algorithms during image processing. No Picture storing or network sharing is involved during calculations to prevent privacy concerns. In emergencies, the health personnel will take a picture of the person and all necessary calculations can be obtained without disturbing the person. The application can also be used in all hospitalized at-risk patients. Currently there is a working prototype test loaded on Android and ios platforms. Accuracy improvent and clinical use cooperations are needed for Abakus.
